{"id":109,"date":"2023-05-03T14:11:39","date_gmt":"2023-05-03T14:11:39","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/spiffaktning.se\/?page_id=109"},"modified":"2023-05-03T18:47:42","modified_gmt":"2023-05-03T18:47:42","slug":"competing-for-spiff","status":"publish","type":"page","link":"http:\/\/spiffaktning.se\/index.php\/competing-for-spiff\/","title":{"rendered":"Competing for SPIFF"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">To compete in HEMA in Sweden you have to be aligned with a club.   <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">1. <strong>Pick a competition <\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Facebook and other club members are a good way of knowing what competitions or events are happening where and when.  <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>2. Check with instructors if its a good one for you<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">This is particularly important if you haven&#8217;t competed before.  Different competitions are appropriate for people at different levels.  Instructors will know about the competition and will know you as a fighter and will be able to give you feedback.  <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>3. Make sure you have a competition card<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">If you haven&#8217;t already, register here:  https:\/\/www.budokampsport.se\/ansokningar\/tavlingskort\/<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">SPIFF is listed as &#8220;Stockholmspolisens Idrottsf\u00f6rening F\u00e4ktning&#8221;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">You need to produce a card at the competition for you to be able to compete.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>4.<\/strong> <strong>Get your gear checked.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">First thing at the start of a competition is everyone&#8217;s gear is checked to make sure you have all the necessary protection and that your mask has no dents.  If you can&#8217;t pass gear check you won&#8217;t compete.  So check in plenty of time in case you need to replace anything.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>5. Bring quick repair gear.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Duct tape and elastic string will fix most anything with HEMA gear.
